The Birth of Broccoli
We've got a new years tradition around here that we usually keep hush-hush about, but this year we wanted to let more of you in on the fun.
Each January we send out as many cards and stickers as we can to clients, friends, peers, partners and more. But, not just any old off-the-shelf card. We reach out to an artist whose style and vibe we like, and commission their creative interpretation of Broccoli. It's always fun to see where they take it. We use the artwork on a card, as well as a sticker that we include as a nice little bonus.
Here's a look at the artwork throughout the years. Do you have a favourite?
2022 (above): by Nell Casson, printmaker and fabric artist based in Picton, Ontario.
2023 (above): Daniel Martelock, Ottawa-based artist who focuses on illustrative graphic styles of quirky birds, wildlife, birdhouses, and fun colourful backgrounds.
2024 (above): "The Birth of Broccoli" original oil painting by Jacob Grodzinski, a Stratford, Ontario-based artist whose influences include the great masters like Gustave Courbet and Gary Larson.
Want to get your own card and sticker next year?
Just sign up for our Broccoli Bites, then keep an eye out in November or December when we open the mailing list for additions. That's it! We only use this info to send the cards annually, and of course we can remove you from the list at any time.
We also have a few extra stickers from each year if you want one. Just send us an email at hello@teambroccoli.org to confirm your address and we'll pop it in the mail while the limited supplies last.
